In alignment with IUTT’s commitment to integrating theoretical curricula with practical application, fourth-year Civil Engineering students completed a field training program at the Central Laboratory for Research and Laboratories (Ministry of Public Works and Roads). The program, spanning two months at a rate of one day per week, included 24 practical experiments covering various civil engineering disciplines:
• Soil and Foundations Lab: Soil classification, Grain Size Analysis, Hydrometer Analysis, Proctor Compaction, Ring Density, Atterberg Limits, Permeability, Direct Shear, Compressibility, and California Bearing Ratio (CBR).
• Highways Lab: Asphalt material testing, including Flash and Fire Point, Penetration, Ductility, Viscosity, Marshall Stability, and Bitumen Extraction.
• Materials and Concrete Lab: Mechanical testing of construction materials, including Cement, Steel, Aggregate, Los Angeles Abrasion, Impact Test, and the Concrete Slump Test.
