The International University of Technology Twintech (IUTT) organized on Monday morning, Muharram 28, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 13, 2026, an awareness and mobilization lecture on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Zaid bin Ali, peace be upon him. The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Wael Al-Aghbari, the Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Abdullah Juhaf, deans of colleges, heads of departments, members of the academic and administrative staff, alongside a large crowd of university students and employees.
The lecture was presented by the Mujahid Abu Saleh Atef, who reviewed the prominent historical phases in the life of Imam Zaid, peace be upon him, and what he represented as an eternal model in confronting injustice and tyranny. He addressed his blessed revolution against Hisham bin Abdul Malik and the political deviation of his era, the reasons that prompted the Imam to rise in defense of truth and justice, leading up to his martyrdom, peace be upon him, which formed a bright milestone in the history of the Islamic nation.
Abu Saleh pointed out that Imam Zaid, peace be upon him, embodied the values of courage, pride, and steadfastness on principles. He emphasized the importance of drawing lessons and inspiration from his fragrant biography, and emulating his positions in supporting the truth and confronting falsehood, thereby contributing to consolidating values of awareness, responsibility, and adherence to authentic Islamic principles.
The university leadership confirmed that organizing this event comes within the framework of its cultural and awareness programs aimed at enhancing awareness of the nation’s history and its great symbols, and linking generations to the biographies of Islamic figures from the prominent Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, who presented the finest examples of sacrifice and redemption for the sake of raising the word of truth.
The lecture concluded by emphasizing the importance of reviving such faith-based and cultural occasions due to their role in developing awareness, enhancing identity and authentic values, and drawing lessons from the biography of Imam Zaid, peace be upon him, in patience, jihad, steadfastness on principles, supporting the oppressed, confronting tyranny, and conscious work for reforming the nation.
