In a scientific achievement that reflects the presence of the International University of Technology Twintech (IUTT) in multidisciplinary research fields, Dr. Ayman Al-Sabri, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, in collaboration with a team of specialized researchers in dentistry and artificial intelligence, published an original scientific paper titled:
Comparative Evaluation of CNN Architectures for Detection of Dental Pulp Calcifications on CBCT Slices

The research was published in the peer-reviewed international journal Science Progress, published by the global publishing house SAGE. The journal has an impact factor of 2.6 and falls within the first quartile (Q1) according to the latest Scimago Journal & Country Rank data.

The study evaluated and compared the performance of 15 advanced Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architectures in the automated detection of dental pulp calcifications using CBCT images, along with studying the effect of data splitting and augmentation strategies on model accuracy and reliability. The study demonstrated promising results, highlighting the importance of external validation using larger datasets before deploying these models in clinical applications.

This publication embodies the drive of the International University of Technology Twintech toward supporting interdisciplinary research combining computer science, artificial intelligence, and medical sciences, as well as encouraging faculty members to produce high-impact international research that contributes to developing innovative technical solutions to serve society.
