The third-year female students of the Interior Design Department at the International University of Technology Twintech (IUTT) conducted a field visit to Dar al-Hajar. This visit was a requirement for the “Conservation of Historic Buildings” course, under the supervision of Eng. Nada Al-Abyad. The visit included a comprehensive study of the history of Dar al-Hajar, its architectural characteristics, and its interior design elements, in addition to identifying its unique furniture pieces. The instructional session covered a detailed floor-by-floor analysis, identifying modern additions and evaluating their compatibility or conflict with the original heritage character, while clarifying the function of each floor and its designated purpose. The visit also addressed the built-in cabinets and sitting rooms (Majlis), explaining the functional role of each room, the traditional “Qamariya” windows, natural refrigerators, and other traditional architectural elements
