As part of the ongoing graduation project defenses for the Cybersecurity program (2025-2026), IUTT’s Faculty of Computer Science showcased a distinguished project titled: CyberTrap.
The project introduces an innovative solution for threat detection based on cyber deception techniques. CyberTrap addresses the limitations of traditional security systems by deploying deceptive virtual resources known as (Honeytokens). These smart traps appear as legitimate assets but are designed to instantly detect unauthorized access or tampering.
The project includes a centralized management platform and a monitoring agent to track security events, providing real-time alerts for early incident response. The team conducted simulated cyberattacks to verify the system’s efficiency in near-real-world environments.
Project Team: (Ali Al-Sanabani, Mohammed Al-Odaini, Elias Hashim, Yousef Al-Mutareb, Abdulaziz Hijash) supervised by Dr. Amin Shayae.
Defense Committees: Internal: (Dr. Hamzah Jamel, Dr. Jameel Hamzah). External: (Dr. Hesham Aqlan, Dr. Abduljabbar Al-Sharif).
