As part of the graduation project defenses for Computer Science students (2025–2026), and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sadiq Manna, Vice President for Academic Affairs, IUTT presented a distinguished research project titled: An Empirical Study of Deepfake Voice Detection under Real-World Conditions.
The project addresses one of the most critical modern digital challenges: detecting voice deepfakes in real-world scenarios. It focuses on developing an intelligent system capable of distinguishing between real and fake voices in environments that simulate reality (including noise, varying microphone quality, and phone calls).
To achieve the best results, the team utilized MFCC technology to extract physiological characteristics of the human voice combined with a SVM statistical model, reaching an accuracy of 94%. Additionally, the project included the development of a fast web application for instant deepfake detection, making it an effective tool for combating financial fraud and supporting forensic investigations.
Project Implementation: Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Hamdani, Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Nahari.
Supervision: Dr. Amin Shayae.
Internal Defense Committee:
Dr. Hamzah Jamel, Dr. Ayman Al-Sabri, Prof. Dr. Fadhl Ba-Alawi.
