International University of Technology Twintech (IUTT) highlights the DermAI project as a qualitative achievement in medical AI and smart healthcare.

As part of the graduation project defenses for the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science program for the academic year 2025–2026, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Wael Al-Aghbari, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Sadiq Manna, Vice President for Academic Affairs, IUTT – Faculty of Computer Science and IT presented a distinguished research project titled:

LLM-Based and Image-Powered Integrated Healthcare System for Dermatological Disease

This is one of the leading projects that combine medical AI, image analysis, and Large Language Models (LLMs) within an integrated digital platform named DermAI.

DermAI offers an advanced smart medical platform to support diagnosis, consultation, and follow-up in the field of dermatology, through a Multi-Agent AI System operating within a secure medical environment. The project includes nine specialized AI agents that integrate to provide a precise and organized diagnostic experience.

The system relies on five diagnostic agents working within a multi-stage medical analysis chain, starting with verifying the presence of a skin lesion, then classifying the case, determining the potential disease, and evaluating the probability of skin cancer, reaching the stage of improving results through the intervention of specialized doctors to ensure performance accuracy and continuous development.

The project is not limited to diagnosis but extends to include an integrated medical care system, comprising four additional agents for medical documentation, reporting according to the ICD-10 standard, producing customized voice reports, and managing automatic follow-up, in addition to supporting smart phone calls. The system also relies on long-term memory for each user, continuously updated to form a cumulative smart medical record that enhances medical decision accuracy while giving the user full control over their data.

To enhance reliability, the project supports a dynamic interactive questioning mechanism when diagnostic possibilities multiply, along with an integrated medical RAG system linked to the medical record and patient history, ensuring more accurate and consistent decisions. It also provides a paid medical consultation platform connecting users with doctors, supported by an electronic wallet and a smart algorithm to choose the most suitable doctor, with the possibility of transferring the case accompanied by all analyses and reports.

The project is also distinguished by the development of a special reinforcement learning algorithm titled ARLEF, allowing the system to continuously learn from the decisions of real doctors and improve its performance over time. On the technical infrastructure side, the platform was designed according to the highest security and privacy standards, with encryption of data and images during transmission and storage, using MinIO for secure storage and Elasticsearch for data management and searching within medical records.

The project also reflects a clear research dimension through the preparation of three scientific research papers, along with the development of a special database (DermAI Dataset) to support future studies. The platform is available via a web application and a mobile app, with a flexible (Plug-in) architecture that allows adding new AI models, making it expandable and continuously developable.

DermAI represents an advanced model for graduation projects that go beyond the academic framework to applied solutions serving the health sector, confirming the ability of the university’s students to employ AI in the service of humanity and transform research ideas into technical products of real value.
