Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Built Environment in Developing Countries (ICBEDC) · 2008
Abstract
This paper conducts an in-depth socio-economic analysis of the supply-demand determinants affecting low-cost housing implementation across Sana’a, Yemen. The authors identify how inflation, land tenure ambiguities, escalating construction supply chain expenses, and lack of specialized municipal microfinancing vehicles construct barriers preventing vulnerable families from obtaining secure, structural housing assets.
